Kelly grew up in Denver and attended college in Boulder at the University of Colorado. While at CU, she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing with an emphasis on entrepreneurial studies. In her senior year, she won third place in the business school’s annual Business Plan Competition.
After graduation, Kelly moved to Vail where worked in event planning and marketing with a focus on recreational enterprise. Kelly honed her organizational skills while coordinating a wide range of events including Vail’s Oktoberfest and Fourth of July celebrations, as well as numerous corporate conferences and wedding receptions. She also met her husband during her time in the Vail Valley.
Looking for a change, Kelly and Chris made the decision to move to Seattle in 2005. Seattle is a glorious city brimming with exciting energy, caffeine-driven creativity, and 300 days of rain. It was the perfect place to go back to school to pursue a career in graphic design. Kelly attended the School of Visual Concepts (SVC) and immersed herself the subtleties of life in the Pacific Northwest. The fine art of coffee devotion was high on her list. Kelly was lucky enough to study with several prominent Seattle designers. In early 2008, her work was featured in an article profiling SVC, which has been teaching aspiring graphic design students since 1971. She was also part of a small group of students chosen to submit work through SVC to The Seattle Show, an annual design competition.
After a few years Kelly and her husband began to miss the Colorado sun. They made the move back to Colorado at the end of 2008. Thrilled to be out of the rain, Kelly is now working in Denver and has established her own design studio. In the spirit of giving back common to all of the members of the TEN|10 team, Kelly serves on the junior board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado.
